This year, more than ever, I realize how truly blessed I am. In a matter of months, my life was forever changed. In May, Brian ended up in Intensive Care because his heart was failing. After 4 months on the waiting list, we got a new heart and now, almost 3 months [...]
Oooh! The new M. Night Shyamalan movie, Lady In the Water, has a new traier on Apple.com. It looks good.
Just a quick picture. Here’s Brian cutting Monica’s birthday cake this past weekend. Ain’t he just the most handsome thing on God’s green earth? :) The cake was an ice cream cake and was deeeeeeeeelicious.
I’ll post more photos from the partay later!
At my day job, which is where I am when not fighting crime by night, we are still on Internet Explorer 6, or as I call it, “the big devil”. Now, if I had my way, we’d all be on Mozilla’s Firefox since we use PCs (I prefer Camino for my Mac at home).
For [...]
We saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this weekend on Imax (if you can, see the film on Imax)!
It was really good, I thought they did the best job they could bring such a hefty book to life in such a short amount of time (two and a half hours). [...]
That lovely poster, and many others, is available at Despair.com. I personally will be ordering my very own copy of “Art of Demotivation“.
I was minding my own business, checking e-mail on AOL when I saw this headline story. Apparently a Cadaver Exhibition has offended some human rights groups. Wow. Look at the pictures. They injected corpses with a polymer complex then sliced some of them vertically. You can see everything.
Gives [...]
So I admit freely that I am still a general newbie to Movable Type but I’ve been using it now for about a month and a half. I use Textpattern and Wordpress to power other sites I’ve created so here are my observations on the three.
Movable Type is slow
Before all of the Movable Type [...]
Okay, aside from having an awesome site design, the Internet Zillionaire’s are friggin hilarious. In a recent post, “The Centaur” explains why he hates needles (and I have to agree with him). But the comedic spin is priceless. Gotta love a funny techie.
Equally as entertaining is their entire section on “Marital Relations”. [...]
I’ve always heard that times goes by faster as you age but come on — Thanksgiving is next week? What the crap? Didn’t we just do Thanksgiving?
I realized last night that we are in the final drive to 2006. This weekend is Monica’s birthday and Harry Potter on Imax, then [...]
A coworker sent this to me and it made me giggle. “Name That Game” is a little online quiz where they play you audio clips and you have to guess the vintage game it’s from (think Pac-Man or Donkey Kong). I did pretty well, I missed one.
Try your luck!
So one of the first reviews is out, Entertainment Weekly gives Madonna’s new disc a “B-” — that’s better than her last CD!
I know I’ve been absent a few days; I’ve been down since last Tuesday with the flu or a flu like bug. I’ll write more when my “recovery” is over.
Flock is the brainchild of your average web users with not-so-average intellect. :) It’s an open-source browser that’s still in developer beta testing but should be released before too long I imagine (their website says by the end of the year).
The plugins, or extensions, look friggin terrific. I’m [...]
Primp My Blog is a monthly design contest for linkware of blog themes. It’s open to anyone who wants to participate and the net votes on the submissions to get a winner.
Good stuff. I normally love Francey’s work but her site has gone buh-bye (hmph). Hope she comes back soon!
After my last comment stirred up the bee hive, I almost didn’t post this entry. But my previous entry was meant with respect and in a positive manner — I have mucho respect for the 9rules gang.
So, with that said, Scrivs has officially announced round 3 for 9rules submissions. You’ll have 24 hours [...]
I thought this flower was bizarre. This baby is growing right outside our front door and it’s color is so vibrant, it almost looks like someone painted it.
I’m easily amused — this little flower captivated my attention so much that I stopped what I was doing to get my camera and take a picture.
What is it about Best Buy that makes people act like complete crackheads? Take this guy for example; sure, he’s an excellent dancer. But do we all need to know that? :)
I was crying I laughed so hard at that one. Thanks EW.
This was too funny not to share. Lost Rhapsody. Fans of the show should love it. :)
Brian decided that I am hard to shop for so he asked me to put this list together.

Happy Saturday, folks! Talk atcha later.
For those who haven’t seen already, Dean Allen and company have released version 4.0.2 of their ingenius content management system.
Here’s what the site has to say about the new version:
Besides fixing plenty of little bugs, the major enhancements most notable are probably the fixes to the feeds, the greater flexibility for comments and previews (new [...]
Did you hear that some boob stole the Ford Anglia used in the Harry Potter movies? Damn muggles, they’ve all gone crazy. If there were thousands of websites created begging for the return on Paris Hilton’s dog, I expect to see a million or more for this actual pop culture emergency. :)
Not writing a lot about this one, I’m too angry. NBC allowed a guest, William Donohue, to claim that the crisis in the Catholic Church was “a homosexual scandal, not a pedophilia scandal” and later claimed that “It’s homosexuals” who are responsible for the abuse.
Riiiiiight. I try not to let this stuff get [...]
Brian had read a series of books called “The Belgariad” by David Eddings when he was younger and loved them so we recently purchased the audiobooks from Amazon.
The series is science-fiction about a young boy who’s charged with the saving his world, but is unaware of his destiny for the most part.
There are [...]
