Pricing and Booking

Pricing for a session includes the following:

  • A 1-2 person session.
  • Each additional person (or pet) will be $10.
  • Approximately 2 hours of shooting time at a location(s) of your choice (I can provide suggestions if you need some help).
  • Processing and color correction of images.
  • An online password-protected gallery of your images for viewing and sharing. The gallery will remain online for at least 60 days.

In addition to all of this, you’ll receive a DVD with all of your images. You’ll be granted a copyright release to print as many copies of the images as you’d like up to 8×10. Anything larger than an 8×10 will need to be ordered via Ryan Arrowsmith Photography.

The standard session fee is $175.

*Note: Pricing is good for 2010 only.  Pricing is subject to change with notice.

From time to time, I may offer limited run specials. You can view those on the Specials page.

In order to book a session, just shoot me an e-mail. Sessions are booked on a first come, first serve basis.

Naughty Mother Nature

Since we will do most of our shooting, if not all, outdoors, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. If we have to reschedule a shoot due to weather, I’ll make every effort to get you rescheduled as quickly as possible.

What to Wear

This is always a tough question to answer! The simple answer: you should wear an outfit, or outfits, that best represents who you are at this time or best captures the story you want to tell with your pictures. In general, bright colors and patterns translate very well onto prints and the screen. But if you’re a solid-colored t-shirt kinda guy, then that’s what you should wear. At the end of the day, your pictures should show who you really are.

But, whatever you choose to wear, bring comfortable shoes. Since we’re shooting outdoors, locations are rarely close together. If we’re at a park, we’re going to be doing some hiking. We’ll be covering a fair amount of ground and it may be muddy or wet, so bring shoes that keep your feet comfortable and safe. We’ll change into cute shoes for the photos.

Tips for Portraits of Children

The most important part of shooting portraits of children: we need them in a good mood. :) When possible, we should try to schedule the session for a day that’s not super busy for them and, if possible, for a time that’s preceded by a nap and a good meal. If that’s not possible, then I have a whole bag of tricks to try and help get those adorable smiles out and on the record. :)

With kids, you may also want to make sure you bring a couple snacks, drinks, maybe a few toys to get their attention and some wipes (kids always manage to get dirt on their faces – it’s their job).

Pet Portraits

As an animal lover, I delight in taking pictures of your pets! If we’re going to have an animal involved in a session, there are a few things you need to consider bringing: water is a must! Make sure to bring a bowl too. If we’re shooting outdoors, it’s probably going to be warm. Even if it’s not, we’ll probably do a lot of walking, which will make your little one work up a thirst.

Also, your pet will need to be leashed while we are in public, so please remember a leash, collar and/or harness.

Treats are also really important with pets. Nothing gets them as motivated as a yummy little snackaroo. You might also want to bring a loud squeaky toy, or something that makes noise and will get their attention.
